Preschool Kindergarten Itinerant Teacher Services (PKIT)

Our PKIT program provides early childhood special education itinerant teachers directly to Head Start sites. Working individually and in small groups, children with language or other developmental delays are provided with specialized activities and curriculum modifications that enable them to meet the goals and objectives of their Individual Education Plans and transition successfully to kindergarten. Almansor staff work closely with Head Start agency teachers and the child’s parents to encourage optimum growth and learning.

Speech and Language Therapy

Our highly qualified speech and language specialists provide individual assessments for young children referred by Head Start agencies with suspected speech and language delays. A written diagnostic report allows the Individual Education Plan team to determine whether speech and language remediation is required. Eligible children receive individual and small group speech and language services by Almansor specialists. Our speech and language services enable young children to reach age-appropriate developmental milestones with the rest of their peers and transition successfully to kindergarten.
